The event is inspired by the new secret gadget “100% Friends-Calling Bell”. Using the bell’s calling on function, various themed exhibits will be showing up for a limited of time in Tokyo. Similar to previous stops around Asia, some exhibits will be shown in public, like a rehearsal, allowing local fans and people to see them earlier.
On March 14 and 15, some Doraemon exhibits will be displayed simultaneously in Shibuya and Roppongi Hills.

In Shibuya, there will be 10 quirky Doraemon sculptures on display, including a “Manga Artist” design resembling the original author Fujiko F. Fujio, a popular “Roasted Sweet Potato” design that’s gone viral overseas, “Starfish Monster”, “Dorayaki Fashion”, “The Vampire Kit”, “Ghost”, and more. These unique designs are sure to be a highlight in this trendy hotspot!

At Roppongi Hills, there will be a giant balloon approximately 12 meters tall and over 40 different Doraemon sculptures on display. The sculptures being shown there are in various poses and expressions.
Interestingly, Roppongi Hills is also the site of the annual summer event hosted by TV Asahi, where older Doraemon sculptures are always on display during the event. This time, a large number of new sculptures are on display, giving the area a fresh and spectacular look!
This pop up event will be held on March 14 [12:00-18:00] and March 15 [10:00-18:00] (JST [UTC+9]), simultaneously at the SHIBUYA109 Shibuya Store event space and the Roppongi Hills Arena. Enjoy this exciting preview in both areas before the official start of the exhibition in Tokyo!
This pop up event in Japan may follow the format that was used in other overseas locations. Previously, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Taipei allowed the public to view from outside, while Thailand placed the sculptures in railway stations for easier close up photo opportunities. The actual details for the Tokyo ones are yet to be confirmed.
