(CHINESEDORA.COM) – The box office for Doraemon’s 2023 movie “Doraemon: Nobita’s Sky Utopia” has finally been announced! According to Toho, “Doraemon: Nobita’s Sky Utopia” has grossed a total of 4.34 Billion Yen (Around 30.35 Million USD) in Japanese domestic box office, being the highest since the pandemic.

According to Toho, “Doraemon: Nobita’s Sky Utopia” has grossed a total of 4.34 Billion Yen (Around 30.35 Million USD) in Japanese domestic box office, becoming the highest growing film in the 2D franchise since the outbreak of COVID-19 in 2020. The movie currently ranks 4th overall in the franchise in terms of box office, just ranking under “Treasure Island”, “Chronicle of the Moon Exploration” and “Great Adventure in the Antarctic Kachi Kochi”. As for the number of viewers, Toho has not announced an exact number but we speculate it had around 3.65 million viewers in total as it has been previously announced that the film had surpassed over 3.62 million viewers.
Additionally, Toho also announced that there were 9 films that grossed over 1 billion yen in the first half of 2023, with “Doraemon: Nobita’s Sky Utopia” ranking 3rd overall, only ranking under “Detective Conan: Black Iron Submarine” and “Tokyo MER”.
“Doraemon: Nobita’s Sky Utopia” is still currently available to watch in cinemas in both Hong Kong and Taiwan, with the film grossing over 15 million TWD in box office in Taiwan as of July 26, with the possibility of setting a new box office record for the franchise in the region.
